Indy

This weekend I am going to be heading out to Indianapolis for a basketball tournament.  It will be pretty fun, but it also means I'm not going to have much time to do school.  Any takers on helping me?  Maybe doing my math?  You never know.  You would be helping a just cause..imgres.jpg
Anyways we are ranked the 3rd seed in the top bracket, which should be tough yet fun.  Hopefully we don better that last year where we lost all three of our games kind of like...

Skiing

Last Wednesday I went out to Hidden Valley to ski for the first time.  It was pretty fun, even though it was 70 degrees out and there was a million little black kids who had no idea how to ski.  At first I was horrible, i.e. falling off the rope tow, rough.  After that I became a bit more acclimated with the slopes and skiing in general.  At the end I was killing it. Kind of like this.

After this skiing adventure, I decided that I like water skiing better than snow skiing.

Speaking of me water skiing:

Cake

It's my dad's birthday today, which means that cake is called for.  Cake is probably one of the most diverse food in America. I mean think about it.  We have, chocolate cake, fruit cake, cookie cake, cake with different icing, birthday cake, wedding cake, funnel cake.  Literally everything is a cake.  This blog will be made up of some of the most delicious looking cakes in the world.

Golfing...The Sport We Thought We Knew

For those of you who have never gone golfing, you should definitely do it.  You will probably hate it as much as I do, but you will probably also love it as much a I do.  The last part is only true if a golf cart is involved. For me, golfing only makes up 33% of actual golfing, the other 77% is all due to the golf cart. Those of you are not golfers but golf know exactly what I mean.  Don't get me wrong, there is always a certain sense of joy as you whack a 1 and a half inch ball as far as you can (which normally means about 25 feet, on a good day), but the golf cart is really where it's at.  My golf game is SLOWLY progressing, especially over this past summer.  I am now able to drive a golf cart quite smoothly across the fairway, without leaving too many marks with the wheels.

But seriously, go golfing, get a golf car, have fun.

Chick-fil-a

Whew, just got back from another long day at Chick-fil-a. It was actually one of the more entertaining days I have worked there.  First off, we had a couple people call in sick in the morning so we were down four people to start with.  Next, since it is Friday, there was a boatload of catering orders going out for vary businesses and parties.
The morning went along fine with a steady flow of customers and no real drama. Then right at about 10 o'clock there was a flurry of catering orders to get done as well as 20 people constantly in the drive through. I think when we add up the totals we sent out about 800 chicken strips, 500 chicken nuggets, 300 sandwiches, 100 brownies, and 50 large fries.  All of that on top of ridiculous amounts of people flowing through the drive-thru and the store itself. Needless to say, I was glad to get out of there.

A new season

I am writing this blog to herald in the new season of the used to be Starry Unicorns.  It has been quite an eventful offseason with a team name change, a minor lockout, and a few roster changes.   Needless to say, the Raging Pomegranates
imgres.jpg
are primed for a deep postseason run.  It helped to have a championship caliber team last year without having any juniors or seniors.   Sadly our manager is retiring after a great one year.  He decided to go out on top, taking a hint from his colleague Tony La Russa.  Thankfully we have found a suitable replacement with quite a bit of experience.  The manager has been quick to decide that there will be about 8 or 9 assistant captains on the team.  All in all this is looking like a promising year and hopefully another championship.
